Washington DC Press Internships
As the Senator represents the state of Vermont, preference is given to Vermonters. However, all people interested in progressive public policy are encouraged to apply. This is a great way to get your “foot in the door” on Capitol Hill.
Terms:
- August/September – December DEADLINE: July 15, 2011
- January – May DEADLINE: December 1, 2011
- May/June – August DEADLINE: April 15, 2012
For all internship “terms” both part and full time positions available. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.
Job Description: Photography and/or journalism experience is desired, but not required.
Technology Related
Monitor website to ensure all aspects are functioning
Works with Senate recording studio and press secretary
Public Relations Related:
Track Coverage of the Senator
Maintain and organize databases
Identify and download news clips of Senator
Photograph constituents with Senator Sanders
Order and send photos to constituents and newspapers
Compress photos for posting on the website
Write photo captions
Publication Design
Assist with editing and proofreading press documents
Assist in drafting and updating of website content
