SICK AND TIRED OF CREDIT CARD RIPOFFS?

Last year the credit card industry made $30 billion in profits by ripping off working Americans. Are you sick and tired of their bait and switch schemes, which can lead to interest rates of nearly 30 percent.

While I will continue the fight in Congress to lower outrageous credit card interest rates you may be able to take action immediately to get yourself a lower rate just by calling them.

Sometimes a simple call can lead to a lower interest rate.

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:

Call the 1-800 customer service number on the back of your credit card and request a lower rate. The representative will ask you a few questions about your account and should be able to get you lower credit card fees.

Give it a try.

“Hello, my name is... I have been a good customer of yours and would really like to stay with (credit card company)

I’d like to speak with someone about lowering my current credit card interest rate. Can you help me with this?"

Let Bernie know how you did.  Did you get a better rate? Did they offer you another card? Or did they say “no way”?

Either way we’d like to hear from you. Fill out the poll below and let us know if your credit card company was responsive.

If it did work, ask yourself: “If it was this easy to lower credit card fees, why were they charging me so much more in the first place?”

And if it didn’t work, know that Bernie will continue to fight to lower credit card interest rates for you and every consumer – to give working and middle class families a break for once.
