Farm Workers Press Conference
Senator Sanders, who chaired a Senate labor committee hearing on the subject, hosted a press conference at which Burger King Corp. announced it had agreed to pay the farm workers of South Florida an extra penny per pound of picked tomatoes. The announcement was a major victory for the farm workers and followed similar agreements by McDonald's and Yum Brands.
