Senator Sanders joined local health care leaders at The Health Center in Plainfield for a groundbreaking to kickoff the center's expansion. The Plainfield center and other Federally Qualified Health Centers in Vermont have become models of the right way to provide health care to underserved communities. Senator Sanders‘ goal is to have a health center in every region of the state. Currently health centers provide care to 86,000 Vermonters at more than 20 sites.

Senator Sanders stopped by Walker Automotive in Montpelier to discuss the Miles Automotive electric cars they sell. The staff drove the Senator around the lot and answered his questions about technology, practicality, cost and interest in these vehicles. Electric cars should be part of the solution to the challenges of global warming and our dependence on foreign oil. Our public policies must reflect these priorities.
