Progressive Star "I propose that Bernie Sanders is the Frank Sinatra of American progressivism. His music of progressivism is perfectly pitched, his lyrics of liberalism are beautifully written, and his standing has risen to make him the second leading candidate for the Democratic nomination," Brent Budowsky said in The New York Observer. Democratic Socialism Sen. Sanders is right: America needs Democratic socialism, wrote Ryan Cooper in The Week. The point of this political system, Cooper argues, "is that common human welfare is more important than an absolute right to ownership." "Sanders advocates for three things that should be the backbone of the Democratic Party. These include reducing economic inequality, removing the rigged influence of the rich on our political system, and of course most importantly, preventing climate change," said Daily KosLINKLINK

Sanders and Paul Although there are wide differences between the two on a number of issues, the size and role of government being chief among them, Sen. Sanders and Sen. Rand Paul do see eye to eye on many things. Limiting NSA surveillance, opposing the TPP, and targeting moneyed elites are all stances they agree on. Voters across party lines have taken notice, finding themselves supporting candidates they wouldn't normally associate themselves with, reported BloombergLINK

That may be enough to prevent global temperatures from rising to dangerous levels. LINK
