A Sanders Victory Lap On the CBS Morning News on Saturday, John Dickerson said Sen. Sanders will be one of his guests Sunday on “Face the Nation.” “He can do a bit of a victory lap,” Dickerson said of Sanders’ leading role opposing the trade deal, defeated in the House on Friday. Dickerson also said “the feeling about the economic system being tilted” has been a cornerstone of Sanders’ message. VIDEO

War on the Middle Class In a column for The Boston Globe about America's declining middle class, Sen. Sanders wrote, "Today, 99 percent of all new income is going to the top 1 percent, while the top one-tenth of 1 percent own almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent...It is time to say loudly and clearly that corporate greed and the war against the American middle class must end. Rx Prices A bill by Sen. Sanders that would make generic drug manufacturers reimburse Medicaid for excessive price increases has gained additional sponsors. The bill now has six co-sponsors, all Democrats. Backers of Sanders’ bill estimated it would cost drug manufacturers about $1 billion a year and save taxpayers the same amount, MD Magazine reported. LINK  

Tuition-Free College With college debt now having passed the $1 trillion mark, it’s clear that the current “pay-beyond-your-means” approach isn’t working. Sen. Sanders has introduced legislation to get rid of tuition to public colleges by imposing a small tax on Wall Street trades, The Daily Dot wrote. LINK  

Family Values Earlier this week, Sen. Sanders released his Family Values Agenda. His bill would guarantee sick leave, maternity and paternity leave, as well as vacation days for employees across America. Diane Rehm Saying she has been through “the most difficult two days of my professional life,” radio host Diane Rehm apologized for parroting an erroneous Internet claim that Sen. Sanders supposedly held dual U.S. and Israel citizenship. Rehm apologized, according to the NPR ombudsman. LINK

Sunday TV Sens. Bernie Sanders and Lindsey Graham are on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday and so is Robby Mook, Clinton's campaign manager. ABC's "This Week" hosts Gov. Chris Christie and Joel Benenson, a Clinton adviser. On NBC's "Meet the Press," guests include Mitt Romney and John Podesta, Clinton's campaign chairman. CNN's "State of the Union" snagged former President Bill Clinton.  "Fox News Sunday" will interview Rep. Paul Ryan; Clinton spokeswoman Karen Finney and James Billington, the retiring librarian of Congress, AP reported. LINK

CIA in Syria Key lawmakers have moved to slash funding of a secret CIA operation to train and arm rebels in Syria, a move that U.S. officials said reflects rising skepticism of the effectiveness of the agency program and the Obama administration’s strategy in the Middle East. The House Intelligence Committee recently voted unanimously to cut as much as 20 percent of the classified funds flowing into a CIA program that U.S. officials said has become one the agency’s largest covert operations, with a budget approaching $1 billion a year, The Washington Post reported. LINK

Clinton 2.0 Hillary Rodham Clinton is calling for a new era of shared prosperity, arguing that American workers can trust her to fight for them in a speech billed as her formal 2016 presidential campaign debut. At an outdoor rally Saturday on New York City's Roosevelt Island, Clinton will portray herself as a fierce advocate for those left behind in the post-recession economy, detailing a lifetime of work on behalf of struggling families, AP reported. Welch Votes ‘No’ on Trade Bill Rep. Peter Welch said President Obama made an impassioned plea to a group of skeptical Democrats. "There's definitely a split between the president and the Democratic caucus, particularly as the trade agreement has gotten worse and prohibited any discussion of issues like climate change or immigration reform,” Welch told Vermont Public Radio.
