Overtime Pay Under a new overtime pay proposal by President Barack Obama, salaried workers who earn less than $50,440 would be entitled to time-and-a-half overtime pay if they work more than 40 hours a week. An estimated 5 million Americans and 10,000 Vermonters could see their pay increased or their hours reduced under the proposal. "This long overdue change in overtime rules is a step in the right direction and good news for workers," Sen. Sanders was quoted in The Burlington Free Press. LINK

Greece President Barack Obama and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi are discussing ways to keep Greece in the eurozone. The two leaders spoke by phone on Wednesday. The White House says Obama and Renzi agreed it's important to help Greece pursue reforms and financing that will create growth and debt sustainability while staying in the currency union, AP reported.

Justice Department Probes Airlines for Collusion The Justice Department is investigating whether U.S. airlines colluded on expansion plans, amid concerns from consumer advocates and politicians that the industry is trying to extend its recent run of prosperity by controlling capacity to keep airfares high. A Justice Department spokeswoman said the department is looking at “possible unlawful coordination” among some airlines, The Wall Street Journal reported. LINK

John Warshaw, 59 One of the early advocates of renewable energy in Vermont has died. John Warshow turned his 1970s anti-nuclear activism into a business that was at the forefront of alternative energy development in the state, Vermont Public Radio reported. LINK
