Senator Sanders began the day speaking to Vermont veterans at the VFW Annual Meeting in Burlington. Below the Senator participates in the celebration of Clean Water Day at the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich. While in Norwich the Senator stopped to sample some goods at a local farmer’s market. He then traveled to Bellows Falls where he spoke to a crowd that was enjoying the 8th annual “Roots on the River” music festival. A group of more than 100 students and teachers from the 8th grade at U-32 Junior/Senior High School in Montpelier, Vermont met with the Vermont congressional delegation to discuss current affairs in Washington.
A group of more than 100 students and teachers from Williston Central School met with the Vermont congressional delegation to discuss the key issues facing our country today. While Senator Sanders was meeting with the students, Senator Barbara Boxer from California walked by and welcomed the group to Washington.
