The Mount Anthony Union High School girls’ lacrosse team met with Senator Bernie Sanders while in Washington, D.C. for scrimmage games. A group of approximately 45 students and teachers from Thetford Academy in Vermont met with the Vermont congressional delegation on the steps of the United States Capitol to discuss current affairs in Washington and to gain a better understanding of Congress.
Senator Bernie Sanders met with 15 graduate students from SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, Vermont, to discuss the political process and how one citizen can influence policy. Formerly known as the School for International Training, the institute combines classroom and field-based learning to educate students from more than 30 countries in fields ranging from international education to international development.
Senator Bernie Sanders met with administrators from the Center for Technology in Essex Junction, Vermont to discuss workforce development, K-12 education and higher education issues. The center provides Vermont students with comprehensive technical programs including career exploration, preparation and technical literacy.
