Hundreds of people in Vermont and across the country have emailed Senator Sanders to describe what the collapse of the American middle class means in their everyday lives. The messages began to pour in even before town hall meetings in Montpelier and South Royalton on Saturday. The senator was joined at the town meetings by Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren, who said families now need two incomes to provide basic necessities.
