To Senator Bernie Senator Sanders, listening to what's on the minds of Vermonters is an important part of the job of a United States Senator.   He will be doing just that this weekend during a Saturday morning stop at the Moose Festival in Canaan  and at town meetings  later Saturday in Island Pond and Newport.  Three more town meetings are scheduled on Sunday in Craftsbury, Barton and Morrisville.   "I guess on town meetings, I'm just an old-fashioned conservative because I believe it's really important that people have an opportunity to come out and ask questions, make comments, and hear from their elected officials about what's going on in Washington," he said.
