Vermont town meetings put a spotlight on efforts in Congress to pass a constitutional amendment to take corporate money out of politics. Measures urging Congress to act were passed by at least 55 Vermont communities on Town Meeting Day. Sen. Bernie Sanders is the chief sponsor of the Saving American Democracy Amendment to override a 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission . On Wednesday, he talked about his amendment and the town meetings in a Senate floor speech and in an interview on MSNBC.
