A Great Discussion

Student government representatives and college newspaper reporters and editors from across Vermont joined Sen. Bernie Sanders on Thursday for an online town meeting.  The exchange touched on issues from foreign policy to college affordability. The topics of questions ranged from the death of Osama Bin Laden and the role of the United States in Afghanistan to health care, the environment and the fate of the Pell grant program that helps students afford college. “This country right now is facing some enormous problems,” Sanders said. “We need your idealism, your brains, your energy and most of all your participation in the political process,” he told the students. “This has been a great discussion, “ he concluded as he rapped up the 40-minute virtual town meeting.  If you missed it, you still can watch it online.
