Sen. Bernie Sanders, who chairs the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs, said we have "a moral responsibility" to provide quality care for our veterans. During a news conference this morning with the director of Vermont’s White River Junction VA Medical Center, Sanders highlighted the state-of-the art health care that is available for veterans in Vermont and throughout the country. “The fact of the matter is that we can never really repay people who put their lives on the line for this country,” he said.
