Federal funds to help Vermont rebuild after Tropical Storm Irene are included in a stopgap spending measure that took shape on Monday. The measure would to keep the government running through mid-December. "This is a step toward providing Vermont the help it needs and deserves to rebuild roads and bridges washed out by Hurricane Irene." Sen. Bernie Sanders said. "I hope Congress will now finish its job so communities in Vermont and other states devastated by the flooding may continue their recovery."
