Day 50

bernieSenator Bernie Sanders was Vermont Public Radio's guest today on "Vermont Edition". On the 50th day since the BP oil rig explosion, the senator's proposal for a ban on offshore oil drilling was one topic of the discussion. He introduced legislation to ban drilling along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and Florida's gulf coast.  His bill also would raise the fuel efficiency standard for cars to 55 miles per gallon by the year 2030. "I think Sanders gets it," Katrina vanden Heuvel blogged about the bill for The Nation.
