Senator Bernie Sanders was Vermont Public Radio's guest today on "Vermont Edition". On the 50^th day since the BP oil rig explosion, the senator's proposal for a ban on offshore oil drilling was one topic of the discussion. He introduced legislation to ban drilling along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and Florida's gulf coast.  His bill also would raise the fuel efficiency standard for cars to 55 miles per gallon by the year 2030.
