Fed Conflicts

JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon will appear before the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday. "Jamie Dimon is the poster child for why we need to end the serious conflicts of interest at the Fed, but he is not alone. Two-thirds of the directors at the New York Fed are hand-picked by the same bankers that it is in charge of regulating," Sen. Bernie Sanders said on Monday. Sanders had questioned Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke last week about whether it is a conflict of interest to have Dimon and other bankers sit on the boards of Fed regional banks.
