Income Inequality
Four out of 5 U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near-poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives, according to a survey for The Associated Press. Releasing the findings on Monday, AP cited an increasingly globalized U.S. economy, the widening gap between rich and poor, and the loss of good-paying manufacturing jobs. Sen. Bernie Sanders discussed income inequality in America during a television interview broadcast Sunday. “The main goal, to my mind, is to revitalize the economy, create the millions of jobs we want, to raise the minimum wage so that people have work and decent income,” Sanders told Scott Rasmussen on “What America Thinks.”
