Sen. Bernie Sanders on Tuesday criticized 47 Republican senators for trying to scuttle diplomatic negotiations aimed at preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. Reporters asked Sanders about the letter after a speech to the International Association of Firefighters. He called it an attempt to sabotage President Barack Obama’s negotiations with Iran. He said some senators may be “itching for” another war in the region where the U.S.  waged wars for the past decade in Iraq and Afghanistan. “Apparently, some of my Republican colleagues do not believe that two wars are enough,” he added. “That is a very, very tragic position to hold.”
