Town meetings in more than 60 Vermont communities are considering whether to back an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would declare that corporations are not people. Sen. Bernie Sanders proposed his Saving American Democracy Amendment to undo a Supreme Court decision that struck down laws limiting corporate campaign spending. "Bernie Sanders is speaking for Vermont and for a movement when he says: ‘There comes a time when an issue is so important that the only way to address it is by a constitutional amendment,'" Nichols wrote.
