Vermont Clean Energy Investment Summit
Sen. Bernie Sanders, Gov. Peter Shumlin and the Vermont Department of Public Service on Monday will host a Vermont Clean Energy Investment Summit. Featured speakers also will include Maj. Gen. Michael Dubie, the adjutant general of the Vermont National Guard, and Richard Kauffman, one of the country's leading experts on private-sector investments in clean energy and a top aide to U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu.
The summit will bring together Vermont's renewable energy and energy efficiency businesses, credit unions and community banks, utilities, state and federal officials, regional and national clean-energy organizations and others. The goal is to catalyze clean-energy investments in Vermont.
Participants will discuss federal policies to promote clean energy and opportunities for more projects in Vermont.
The event also will focus on innovative programs to help homeowners and businesses install and pay for renewable energy systems and efficiency improvements.
