Vermont-based entrepreneurs can once again throw their hats in the ring, battling for money and business connections through LaunchVT, a competition presented by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and its affiliate Burlington Young Professionals group.
Chamber President Tom Torti explained the competition is a means to enhance a culture that already exists in the area, offering a chance for young business leaders to come or stay in the state.
“It’s a way to create a buzz and keep young people in Vermont and draw people to Vermont,” Torti said.
Last year’s winner, Michael Adams, 25, of Richmond-based software company Gredio, won $20,000 cash and $40,000 worth of in-kind services to help his business grow.
The victor this year will get even more, with $25,000 cash and $45,000 in-kind offerings.
