Discussion With Dairy Farmers on How to Improve Low Milk Prices
Milk Price Discussion
Sen. Bernie Sanders' office invites Vermont's dairy farmers to share their ideas on improving low milk prices. Our dairy farmers are struggling due to a prolonged period of low milk prices. While the newly improved Margin Protection Program has helped ease short-term cash flow problems for some farmers, a long-term solution is desperately needed to boost milk prices and ensure the viability of dairy farming in our state.
This staff-led discussion is an opportunity for farmers to weigh in on what policies they think are needed to improve milk prices and farm income.
Lunch will be provided.
