WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) issued the following statement today after police said at least 12 people were killed at the Washington Navy Yard: 

“Today we have experienced another horrific and senseless shooting. It is a tragic day for our country and the U.S. Navy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims and the wounded.”
