If you are considering college, technical, or vocational education, you can now fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“the FAFSA”), to help you secure federal, state, and college-specific financial assistance.

Many Vermonters struggle to put food on the table. That has been especially true since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known in Vermont as 3SquaresVT, is the number one way Vermont families can get food help.

Vermonters: Racism exists here. Full stop. It is incumbent upon each of us to educate ourselves and actively work to create anti-racist communities. I thank each and every Vermonter who has shared their experience and who is doing the necessary work to truly make Vermont a welcoming place for all.

One hundred years ago, women fought for the right to vote, and won. Today, as we celebrate this important milestone, we also recognize that women of color were intentionally excluded from this victory, despite their heroic efforts to help achieve it.

When Vermont schools closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, school meal programs quickly transitioned to finding new ways of providing free meals to children 18 and under. In summer months, free and nutritious meals are still available at hundreds of locations throughout Vermont, thanks to the federally-funded Vermont Summer Meals Program.
